Birmingham, to forget the FA Cup
Friday 5 February 2010

Our FA Cup ended in agony last Tuesday, when lost poorly in the fourth round against Crystal Palace, a Championship side. This 3-1 defeat was hard to take but we knew what to expect because they held us to a 2-2 draw in our first match two weeks before.

Crystal Palace moved us all through the game, playing like we should have in a cup game. We were never able to develop our game and hold the ball up-front. However, we managed to held them to a goalless draw at half-time. But soon atfer the break, Palace made the difference and scored three goals in six minutes ! We use to say that it's not over until the fat lady sings and we wanted to keep the scoreline respectable. We finally scored a goal thanks to Karl Henry but it was anecdotal…

After this defeat, we must question ourselves because we were teached a lesson. We are now out of the FA Cup and the Carling Cup. We must focus 100 per cent on our Premier League survival bid.

The fight will be tough, the Premier League table is really tight with four teams tied between the 15th and the 18th spot.

We play at Birmingham on Sunday, starting at 13.30 pm, a team which defeat us 1-0 at home during the first phase. We must, at least, earn a draw, even if a victory will lift us above the relegation zone.
