Born on September 20th, 1985 in Abymes in Guadeloupe, I started by playing football with all my friends in the street. I signed my first licence at 10 years old at l’Avenir Sainte-Rosienne for the under 13’s. This is where I met Claudy Bazilée and Philippe Vaty. Claudy , a 23 year old coach, was so successful due to his hard work and intelligence , he created a team playing quality football.
First I played as a forward then moved to defence next to my younger brother Stephane. I spent 3 years at l’ASR where the atmosphere was great, I would like to thank Claudy for his great human qualities that were very constructive for the team, my brother and myself. He instilled in us strong values that I carry with me even today. I was also a part of the Guadeloupian selection for my category with which I played several tournaments and in particular the D.O.M cup (French department of outre-mer)...
During the 98-99 season, my cousin Loic Lama, played for the Red Star of Pointe-à-Pitre ,the islands main club, asks me to come and see him play a friendly match. A club manager suggests playing one week in Martinique to participate in a tournament. I accept and at the end of the competition, I sign for the Red Star with my brother.
I remember at the time of my resignation, tensions appeared between my team mates, the club and myself. Claudy encouraged me a lot when I announced my departure for Red Star. I still thank all the managers of the ASR and especially Claudy.
